With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sylvia Ingoldsby in Saint-Marys, Ontario, who passed away on January 24, 2026 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jim Ingoldsby; her parents, Malcolm Pitman and Lucie Pitman; her siblings, Helen Topliss (Barry), Jo Rogers (Don) and Malcolm Pitman (Ethel); and her siblings-in-law, Ted Ingoldsby (Virginia), Mary Brown (Frank) and Isabel Whyte (Bill).
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Merritt (late Tony), Lucie Anne Ingoldsby (Jim MacDonald), Dan Ingoldsby (Margaret) and Michael Ingoldsby; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Merritt (Ryan), Jay Ingoldsby and Lexie Ingoldsby; and her sibling Kay Gaffney (late Terry).
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home Ltd. (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5). A prayer was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 at 7:45 PM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home (507 Frederick St, Kitchener, ON N2B2A5). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church (56 Duke St W, Kitchener, ON N2H3W7). A reception was held on Friday, January 30th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Kitchener Downtown Community Centre (35B Weber St W, Kitchener, ON N2H3Z1).
Cremation will follow Mass. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (https://www.heartandstroke.ca) or the WHRN Foundation- Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
