He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ida Lynn Stankie; his sisters, Jane Whittemore (Eric), Barbara Currie (Colin) and Mary Dempsey (Bob Millar); and his parents, Anna Edna Laing and John Hamilton Dempsey. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
