He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Theresa; and his siblings, David, Paul, Peter and Alma.

He is survived by: his children, James Contois (Helen) of Barrie, Jenifer Hood (Craig) of Burlington, Eric Contois of St Thomas and Isabella Contois of St Thomas; his grandchildren, Breanna, Olivia, Jesse, Austen and Kailee; his great grandchild Dean; and his siblings, Blanche, Bernie and Abraham (Christine).
