We bid farewell to Florentina Devaere (Saint-Thomas, Ontario), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 13, 2025 at the age of 92. Florentina touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Devaere; her children, Maria Devaere and Eric Devaere; her siblings, Gabrielle (Louis), Alfons (Louisa), Celine (Emil), Domien (Marie), Fransooi (Valentine), August (Germaine), Hugo (Anna) and Maria (Jeff); her sister-in-law Sister Maria; her sisters, Paula (Jules), Emeil (Irma), Jeanne (Andre) and Willie (Paula); and her parents, Louis Willems and Louisa Biermans.
She is survived by: her children, Godlief Devaere (Paul Choma), Kelly Devaere (Lynne) and Doris Reinke (Warren); her daughter-in-law Marlene Devaere; her grandchildren, Ryan Gilbert, Jared, Adam Devaere, Noel (Vanessa), Jacob, Martine Devaere, Eileen and Alex Reinke; and her sisters-in-law, Louisa Willems-Vermeerbergen (Walter), Monique Mouton (Rafael) and Rosa Vandenberghe (Andre). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home (45 Elgin St, St Thomas, ON N5R3L9). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Angels' Church (502 Talbot St, St Thomas, ON N5P1C2).
Remembrances may be made to Holy Angels' Restoration Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
