CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF GEORGE WATSON

George Watson of West Lorne, Ontario, passed away on April 1, 2026 at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, with his wife and children by his side.

Born November 16, 1950, in Nova Scotia to Betty Lane and Walter-George Watson, he was the eldest of six children.

George was a dedicated soldier for 21 years as a member of the RCR & Airborne; he served in the Gulf War, Desert Storm and three peacekeeping tours. He was proud to be part of the Canadian Armed Forces. ProPatria! Airborne!

In 1992, he retired to focus on raising his children.

George was a family man. Steadfast, dignified, and commanding, he led by example. His gratitude for life was simple and unwavering. He often said, "If you have three square meals a day, a roof over your head, and a family that loves you, then you're already rich." By his own philosophy, he lived a rich and meaningful life.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Renee Perry-Watson; his children, Samantha Turner (Brad) and Colleen Watson-Lafontaine (Michel); and his grandson, Louis Lafontaine.

George is gone too soon, and he is deeply missed. As per his request, there will be no service.
