She was predeceased by: her former husband Cecil Layne; her close friend Bill Otis; her daughter Sheila; her granddaughter Victoria Loewen; her daughter-in-law Valerie Layne; and her parents, Florence Carstens and George Carstens.

She is survived by: her children, Jim Layne (Helene) of London, Brenda Layne of St. Thomas, Cliff Layne (Rose) of Toronto, Jenny McDougall (Bill) of Dutton, Pat Wright (Brad) of Delhi, Blanche Langohr (Rick) of St. Thomas and Kevin Layne of Toronto. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
