He was predeceased by: his mother Joanne Otten; his sister Alice Fousert; and his mother-in-law Jessie Sommer. He is survived by: his wife Connie Otten; his father Chris Otten; his daughter Jolene (Tim); his grandchildren, Melody, Emma and Griffin Pennings; his children, Melissa, Sarah (Joey Hainge), Arlen (Karina Larin) and Nathan (Rae); his grandchildren, Ariah and Casey Otten; his siblings, Martin Otten (Angie), Joan Ridderbos (Jerry), Marianne Coolen (Jeff), Cynthia King (Jeff) and Doreen Groen (Dave); his father-in-law Henk Sommer; and his in-laws, Frank Fousert (Joanne), Martin Sommer (Linda), Wes Sommer (Marilyn), Laura Bosch (Arron), Ken Sommer (Shauna) and Clazina Sommer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Free Reformed Church of St. Thomas (145 St George St, St Thomas, ON N5P2M3). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
