He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Starcevic (Gustin); and his parents, Ivan Starcevic and Marta Starcevic (Tomljenovic). He is survived by: his children, Ivan Starcevic, Joseph Jr. Starcevic and Katarina Burkitt (Chris); his grandchildren, Danielle (Alex), Julia, Marcus, Lily, Ella and Noah; and his siblings, Boja Rukavina, Marija Jovanovic, Katica Simic, Anka Jurkovic, Zorka Starcevic, Nikola Starcevic (Ive) and Milan Starcevic.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
