He is survived by: his wife Sandra Merritt; his children, Sharon Merritt (Bob) and James Merritt (Yaima); his grandchildren, Ty Merritt, Taija Merritt, Talon Merritt, Olivia "Ollie" Nielsen (Jeff) and Shae-Lynn Thiessen (Cory); and his siblings, Stanley Merritt (Carol) and Pamela Carmichael (Martin).
