He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Delurdes; his daughters, Celeste Ramos (late Joe) and Gabrielle Stringer (late Steven); his parents, Alexorino Espinola and Ermelinda Espinola; and his brothers, Manuel Espinola (Alechandrina) and Abel Espinola (Maria).
He is survived by: his son Manuel Mendonca (Fatima); his grandchildren, Michael Ramos (Tammy), Tracey Ramos, Cassandra Michetti (Ryan), Amanda Johnson (Dave), Justine Petronski (Tate), Ryan Mendonca (Marie), Lyndsay Lajoie (Justin) and Tyler Cossette; his great grandchildren, Austin, Miguel, Faith, Faye, Grayson, Landon, Hudson, Madden, Hadley, Lane, Ivy, Eli, Violet, Isabella, Olivia, Christian, Amelia and Noah; his siblings, Generosa (late Benardinho) and Portugal; and his sibling-in-law Durvalina Espinola (late Frank). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
