He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy and Christine; his daughter Cheryl; and his siblings, Catherine Clarke, Eva McNair, Ida Cushman, Evelyn Gould, John, Laverne, Floyd and David.
He is survived by: his son William Roy McKinlay; and his brother Russell (Colleen).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. (102 Victoria St N, Sarnia, ON N7T5W9). A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Resurrection Cemetery (1885 London Line, Sarnia, ON N7T7H2).
