She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Nelson Steele; her daughters, Leona (Dave), Phyllis, Sheila, Donna, Judy and Colleen; her grandchildren, Brandon, Tanya, Charline, James and Waylon; and her siblings, Phyllis, Marie and Mel. She was also cherished by several great-grandchildren.
