He was predeceased by : his parents, Kenneth O'Connell and Madonna O'Connell; and his siblings, Shirley Beard, Paul, Bernard, Ronald and Michael O'Connell.

He is survived by : his spouse Beverley (Clark); his daughters, Marie O'Connell of Burlington, Laura Mawhinney (Alan) of Burlington and Jennifer O'Connell (David Hunter) of Burlington; and his grandchildren, Erin, Luke Mawhinney and Brendan Hunter.
