He was predeceased by: his spouse Gerda; his parents, Laurentius Arkel and Caterina Van Arkel; and his siblings, Adrian Van Arkel (Nelly), Jozef Van Beers, Ann Van Dooren (Joe), Frances Van Asseldonk (Martin) and Mary Van Loon.
He is survived by: his sons, Anne Marie Dalton (Neil), Laurette Kropp (Paul), West, Jerome Van Arkel (Patricia), Sarnia Arkel, Matthew Van Arkel and Chatham-Kent; his siblings, Frank Van Beers (late Willie), John Van Beers (Judy), Nellie Van Den Diepstraten (Andy), Bayfield Diepstraten and Jane Van Den Diepstraten (John); and his siblings-in-law, Nettie Van Beers and Andy Van Loon.
