She was predeceased by : her husband Luis Tavares; her daughter Louise Love; her parents, Jose Tavares and Georgina Tavares; and her siblings, Ilda, Jose and Humberto.

She is survived by : her son Paul Tavares (Laurie); her grandchildren, Chantelle (Sean), Tonya (Bobby), Michael (Samantha) and Lauren; her great grandchildren, Titan, Andee and Nash; her godchildren, Robert Amaral and Elizabeth Law; her siblings, Margarida and Catarina; and her sister-in-law Helen Tavares. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
