“Jacko's astounding knowledge of military war planes, and his uncanny ability to play ANY type of music with determined and painstaking meticulousness earned him the moniker "band fulcrum" - not particularly glamourous, but crisp and true, just like his drumming. He was the ONLY band member who never minded practicing, and never stopped until he got it right. He was a joy to make music with, instantly became family in doing so....and will be mourned, in passing too soon, in just that way.”

“I'm so very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He was a kind soul. We played together in our first band 50 yrs ago and Jack never forgot to stay in touch. I saw Jack a year ago. We had a lovely visit. I called him a while ago and we talked. He was very positive but also very tired. Jack had more friends than anyone I've every known. I'm lucky to have been one of them. He will be sorely missed.
