He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Joy and Ellen Joy; and his siblings, Frank, Lloyd, Dorothy and Alma.

He is survived by: his spouse Goldie Joy; his children, Jim Joy (Pat), Larry Joy (Barb), Cindy Mitchell (Lyle) and Garth Joy (Carolyn); his grandfather Ryan Joy (Katie); and his sibling Frances Tilsonburg (Tripp). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
