He was predeceased by: his parent Martin Pitts; his wife Helen; his children, Jerome and Rose; and his siblings, Everett, Anthony, Veronica, Gillis and Marie Pitts.

He is survived by: his parent Rose Pitts (Chisholm); his children, Greg Peterborough (Wendy), Dana Sarnia (Julie), Martin Sarnia (Leslee), Lorraine Pitts Sarnia, Karen Cameron Lower (Alvin), Joan Ball Valley (Graham), Valerie Young Sarnia (Rob) and Mary Brown Pitts Sarnia; and his grandson Craig Cameron. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to The Royal Canadian Legion, Calais Branch 162 Poppy Fund, or to a charity of your choice.
