It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anna Maria Zappacosta (Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario), who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Rocco Zappacosta; her parents, Carolina Santone and Adamo Volpe; her siblings, Valentino Volpe (late Binetta), Dora Direnzo (late Joe), Antonietta Iacoboni (late Frank) and Vince Volpe (Marion); and her siblings-in-law, Urbano Zappacosta (Cisira) of Italy, Camilla Silvano (late Albert) of Italy and Maturino Zappacosta (late Assunta) of Italy.
She is survived by: her in-laws, Alba and Gustino Zappacosta; her siblings, Italia Cicchini (late Nicole), Giuseppina D'Arcangelo (Vince) and Otto Volpe (Ivanna); her husband Frank Sacchetta; her grandsons, Marcus and Adam Sacchetta; and her sister-in-law Assunta Robuffo (late Cesare) of Italy.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the O'sullivan Funeral Home (215 St James St, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A1P7). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Gregory's Parish (71 Estelle St, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6C2C3).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory's Parish or the Group Health Centre Trust Fund (payable online or by cheque).
