He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Arnold MacKay (late Carol) and Austin MacKay (Elaine); his nephews, Trevor MacKay, Michael MacKay (Cindy), Kevin MacKay and Derek MacKay (Giselle); his niece Linda Coe (Robbie); and his parents, Emil Kohvakko and Edith Kohvakko.
He is survived by: his wife Leona Kohvakko; his children, Craig Kohvakko (Melanie) and Cora-Lee Wilson (Maury); his grandchildren, Kaylan Black (Ben), Carly Kohvakko (Ryan), Emma-Lee, Elam (Zoe) and Ella Wilson; his nephew Ralph MacKay (late Dawn); and his cousins, Robert Shewfelt (Betty) and Peter Skytta (Hille).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Willowgrove United Church (55 Tilley Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6B3Y7). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made (payable by cheque or online) to Willowgrove Mission and Service, Halo Roof Fund or a charity of your choice.
