He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Onge and Leda St. Onge; and his father-in-law John. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Lori Martin (late Kelly), Richard (Beth) and Derek (Tanyia); his grandchildren, Kyle (Andrea), Jessica (Kasper), Scott (Alanna), Nicole, Erik, Garrett, Kaleb, Colton, Lacey and Chase; his siblings, Eddie (late Donna), Sam, Leon (JoAnne) and Jeannette MacKay (Sandy); his mother-in-law Pauline "Baba" Yarema; and his siblings-in-law, Roy Yarema (Barb) and Kathy Wardell (Wayne).
