He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Dale and Ethel (Marshall); and his brother-in-law Kevin Motruk (Julie). He is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children, Melanie (Doug) and Mallorie (Brandon); his pet Diamond; his siblings, Randy, Sharon Matte (Yvon), Dennis (Susan), Lonnie (Maxine) and Charlene Barbeau (late John); his siblings-in-law, Darlene Fisher, Coleen Moxam (Murray), Calvin Motruk (Peggy) and Charlene Thomas (Steve); his parent-in-law Shirley Thomas; and his caregiver Sean.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to ARCH Hospice (payable online directly to the charity or by cheque).
