She was predeceased by: her parents, Emilio Iacoe and Annetta Iacoe; her aunts and uncles, Emilio Battiste Perri (Rose), Michele (late Luisa), Pasquale (late Adelina), Rosina Fiore (late Vincenzo), Carmella Giunti (late Antonio), Giovanni (Maria), Gennaro (Esterina) and Pietro (Adelina); her brother-in-law Salvatore Coccimiglio (Concetta); and her cousin Pierina.
She is survived by: her close friend Frank Coccimiglio; her children, Joe Santelli (Lucy) and Amy Strachan (Tom); her grandson Liam; her brother Enrico Iacoe (Annelise); her goddaughters, Annetta Bacskai (Kevin) and Emilie Iacoe (Randy); her sibling's children, Drew, Presley and Abby; her aunts and uncles, Orlando Perri (Matilda) and Erbina Bernardo (late Giovanni); her siblings-in-law, Rosa Coccimiglio (late Eugenio), Maria Palarchio (late Amadeo), Gisella Gardi (late Vic) and Theresa Sweezey (late Dan); her grandchildren, Fiona, Clare and Kahlan; her cousins, Cecilia (John), Peter (Anna), Frank (Ada), Tony (Marie) and Anita (Frank); and her pet Julietta.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St E, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 2L9). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Precious Blood Cathedral (778 Queen St E, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A2B1).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made (payable by cheque or online) to the Canadian Cancer Society, the local Soup Kitchen Community Centre, and Women in Crisis Algoma, as these causes were close to Maria's heart.
