He was predeceased by: his son Brent Hicks; his parents, Albert Hicks and Blanche Hicks; his brothers, Calvin Hicks (late Ella Mae), Alvin Hicks (late Glynis) and Roy Hicks; his parents-in-law, Emile and Annie Richer; and his siblings-in-law, Ernest Richer (late Marlene), Rolland Richer, Emile Richer Jr. (Murielle) and Leonard Richer (Wendy).

He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Hicks; his children, April Burch (Dave) and Keith Hicks (Evelyn); his stepchildren, David Kennedy (late Veronica), Karen-Ann Henderson (Terry), Charles Kennedy (Marolyn) and Eugene Kennedy (Tabera); his sisters, Darlene Parr (Mervyn) and Sandra McLelland (late Jim); and his siblings-in-law, Alex Richer (Charmaine), Walter Richer (Patsy), Emily Richer, Elizabeth Gilchrist (Don) and Elan Slingsby (Paul). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
