He was predeceased by: his children, Jamie (Christine) and Aaron; his parents, Ute Mahler and Wolfgang Mahler; his siblings-in-law, Mavis Goodman (late Hugh) of British Columbia and Jack Pinder (late Kay) of New Brunswick; his nephew Arthur; Willena Rosley (late Gordon), Edison and Geraldine Pinder.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Mahler (Nee Pinder); his children, Catherine Willet, Renas and Janet; his grandchildren, Christian, Rhys, Heidi, Nora Jane, Hudson and Archer; his sibling Idis Avery (John); his nephew Ian Rosso (Cynthia); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Victor, Alexandria and Cecilia; and his nieces and nephews, Enid, Nancy, Eric, Eddie, Tracy, Peter and Joanne.
