He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Penney and Margaret Penney; his parent-in-law Pat Persian; and his grandchildren, Damon and Haizlee.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his father-in-law Bill; his sons, Mike (Gen), Rick (Cathy) and Ricky Penney; his siblings, Louise Gibbs (Earl), Walter (Peggy) and Perry (Janice); his siblings-in-law, Beth, Sav (Sharon) and Billy; and his grandchildren, Dezirae, Lexi, Brantley, Braelyn, Morgan, Dawson, Jordyn, Kellin and Jake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
