He was predeceased by: his son Rick Samson (Annette); and his parents, Merle Barill and Fred Barill. He is survived by: his children, Lori Antpoehler and Shane Barill (Connie); his grandchildren, Kevin Jr., Ava Antpoehler, Matthew Syrette, Kaleb and Kira Samson; his sister Jackie Fry (Bud Forsey); and his siblings-in-law, Sharon, Murielle Barill and Art Thompson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Lounge (96 Great Northern Rd, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6B4Y5).
