Tony Bortone Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Tony Bortone (Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 29, 2026 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Benedetto Bortone and Lucia Bortone; his brother Rocco Bortone; his grandparents, Antonio, Maria Bortone, Pietro and Angela Cuccovia; and his parent-in-law Michele Del Paggio.
He is survived by: his wife Giuseppa "Josephine" Bortone; his children, Lucy (Eric), Ben (Marien) and Dave (Michelle); his grandchildren, Lauren, Noah, Leo and Emmett; his parent-in-law Incoronata; his sisters-in-law, Maria (Phil), Giovanna (Alessandro) and Rosa (Patrizio); his sibling's children, Claudia, Michael (Angela), Michele (Angelica), Gabriele and Marco (Elena); his aunts and uncles, Nicola (late Antonio Palermo), Giuseppina, Teresa (late Mattia Notte), Rocco Cuccovia (late Josephine) and Anthony Cuccovia (Betty); and his friends, Steve Bortolon, Evert Lamberts, Brian Madill and Frank Bock.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St E, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6A 2L9). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, February 4th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel (114 MacDonald Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6B1H3).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to Sault Area Hospital - Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.
