With sadness, we share the passing of Vanessa Renee Jones (Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario). Vanessa, born on January 28, 1974, passed away on October 13, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Vanessa for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remains. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Vanessa’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Donna Shawanda and Alex Shawanda; her children, Jade Shawanda, Brandon Jones (Baa), Hunter Jones and Forrest Jones; her grandchildren, Isaac and Holten; and her brother Alex Shawanda Jr. (Deb). She was also cherished by many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Garden River Community Centre. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM.
Memorial contributions (made payable by cheque or online) to the Canadian Kidney Foundation, or a donation of flowers, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
