He was loved and cherished by many people including: his significant other Maaike; his children, Jim, Jon and Marijke (John); his daughters-in-law, Susan and Wilma; his grandchildren, Courtney (Steve), Leigh-Anna, Darcy (Nathan), Jonathan (Emily), Byjonka, Jeff (Michelle), Rennie (Joe), Jake and Mitchell; and his great grandchildren, Alec, Camille, Alyssa, Jacob, Lexxie, Jaxxon, Ada and Zoe.

Born in the Netherlands, surviving WW2 prisoner of war camps, emigrating with a young family to Canada, and travelling the world and living through a pandemic resulting in many interesting stories which he loved to share with people who loved to listen.

In lieu of flowers, donations to World Vision may be made in memory of Jake.
