He is survived by: his wife Barbara Cairns; his children, Justin Sweeney (Connie) and Kelsey Maroney (Jessie); his stepdaughters, Kerri (Steve) and Amanda (Robin); his siblings, Deborah Edwards (Paul) and Shawn Sweeney (Carla); his nephews, Ryan Edwards (Melanie), Kyle Edwards (Tiffany), Aidan Sweeney and Ally Sweeney; and his great-niece Rylie Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Rick's memory to support youth sports and hockey development causes that were close to Rick's heart.
