He was predeceased by : his parents, Jennie Chesney (Cline) and Harry Chesney; and his siblings, Harold Chesney (Alma), Peggy Lemmon (Cecil), Pearson "Perk" Chesney (Fern), Margaret McKilligan (Art) and Dorothy Clark (Jack).

He is survived by : his wife Joan (Boyce); and his children, Harold Chesney (Deb) of Seaforth, Laura Collins and George of Brucefield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
