He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Kennedy and Pauline Kennedy; his mother-in-law Lillian Sallows; and his siblings, Lori Kennedy and Scott Kennedy.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Kennedy (Sallows); his children, Jeff Kennedy (Julie) and Tammy McCann (Kevin); his grandchildren, Hunter, Morgan, Tysen (Olivia) and Tayler; his great grandchild Jack; and his siblings, Bonnie (Claude Barr), Alan Kennedy, Ron Kennedy (Liz Campbell), Kim Kennedy, Christine Kennedy (Rick) and Jim Beaver. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
