He was predeceased by : his wife Helen (Ward); his son Michael McLaughlin; his parents, Ursula McLaughlin (Healy) and Michael McLaughlin; his siblings, Bill, Ken, Ron and Marie; and his niece Kathy.

He is survived by : his daughters, Debbie Colbourne (Dave) of Seaforth and Cindy Jones (John) of Barrie; his grandchildren, Samantha (Tyler), Michael, Hydne and Tynesha; his great grandchildren, Jace, Daxon and Savannah; and his siblings, Theresa, Pat, Barb, Pauline, Donna, Mary Lou and Sharon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
