He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nieuwkuyk and Nellie Nieuwkuyk (DeVries); his close friends, Harry and Tony Nieuwkuyk; his parents-in-law, William (Mac) and Shirley Dixon; and his pet Sheba.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne (Dixon); his daughters, Rosanne (James Osborne) and Cindy (Nick Varey); his grandchildren, Liam and Rory Gavin; his sisters, Dina Young (John), Cathy Jones (Kevin) and Henrietta Walker (James); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Nieuwkuyk, Liz Nieuwkuyk, Nancy Hiseman (Ron), Walter Dixon (Teresa) and Gordon Dixon (Joanne). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
