She was predeceased by: her parents, Vivian VanKoughnet and Jim VanKoughnet of Selby; and her sister Verna VanKoughnet. She is survived by: her husband Dean Dickerson; her children, Deborah Turcotte (Barry), Troy (Michelle), Darrell (Stephanie) and Kevin (Christina Wales); her grandchildren, Kristine (Carter), Megan, Corey, Miranda (Luke), Hunter (Hilary), Tate, Ruby and Gina; and her brothers, Gordon VanKoughnet (Sadie), Trevor VanKoughnet (late Ester) and Ralph VanKoughnet (Anne).
For those desiring, memorial donations to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) would be appreciated by the family, in recognition of the compassionate care Joan received from Doctors, Nurses and volunteers of the Intensive Care Unit at KGH.
