He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, George, Leo Maloney, Dave and Jim McAlpine; his parents, Albert Simmons (Ches) and Irene Simmons; his siblings-in-law, Harold Earle, Sharon Pond, Dennis Thomson, Russell Thomson and Anne McAlpine; and his parents-in-law, Cam and Madeline Thomson.

He is survived by: his spouse Gail; his sons, Todd and Chad; his daughter-in-law Jody of Port Dover; his grandchildren, Ben and Addie; his sister Elaine Earle; and his sisters-in-law, Marie Burke and Bette Eke. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
