He was predeceased by: his siblings, John, Hank, Trudy and Wim. He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Brienesse; his children, Lori (Tobin), Philip (Erin), Michael (Vicky) and Erin (Mark); his grandchildren, Gerrit, Jacob, Ellis, Fiona, Katelyn, Alex, Andrew, Riley and Ashley; and his siblings, Bep, Gus, Yokie and Jack. He is also survived by his extended family and friends.
