He was predeceased by: his parents, Freeman Field and Grace Ponting; his children, Kathryn Zimmer and Craig Field; his siblings, Elmo Field (Alena), Lea Field (Orpha) and Bessie Hoover (Neale); and also Clara Hoover. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
