He was loved and cherished by many people including : his significant other Bessie Florence Smith; his stepchildren, James Smith (Minnie), Russell Smith (Daphne) and Shirley Atlee (Richard); his grandchildren, James Jr., Jacqueline (James), Karen (Andrea), Josh (Jessica) and Jeremey (Sarah); his grandfathers, Joe, Zack, Jacilyn, Spencer, Liam, Riley and Hayden; his brother Manuel Sousa Carvalho (Maria Silva Carvalho); his nephews, Jose Manuel Silva Carvalho and Manuel Francisco Silva Carvalho; his parents, Francisco Carvalho and Maria Carvalho; his sister Maria Lurdes Carvalho; and his family, Tena, Josie, Justin and Miley. He was also cherished by many other relatives and friends.
