He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Geerts and Jeannette Geerts. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Meaghan Tompkins (David) of Waterford and Rebecca Van Acker (Paul) of Simcoe; his grandchildren, Lily, Zackary, Everleigh and Peyton; and his siblings, William Geerts (late Anne) of Milton, Shelley Brady (Jim) of Simcoe, Robert Geerts (late Lynne) of London and Michelle Sparzynski (George Simard) of Simcoe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, many extended family members, friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jason Smith Funeral Chapel (689 Norfolk St N, Simcoe, ON N3Y3R3). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at the Oakland Cemetery (112 Oakland Rd, Scotland, ON N0E1R0).
