We are sad to announce that on January 2, 2024, Mel Evans of Simcoe, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his brother Ralph Evans (late Joyce). He is survived by : his wife Lois Evans of Simcoe; and his sister Donna Hoover (Lee) of Manotick. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews & extended family.

Those wishing to donate in memory of Mel are asked to consider the Simcoe Gospel Chapel or Norfolk Youth Unlimited-YFC.

Although it’s been years since I’ve seen cousin Mel, the news of his passing and his picture in the obituary brought back memories of the many times the Evans and Gowan families got together, mostly at the Evans farmstead. Mel’s smile reminded me of his good-natured humour and his patience with his younger Gowan girl cousins who created all manner of nonsense. I hope your memories give you comfort and peace.
