He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Gilpin and Lena Gilpin; and his siblings, Viola, Helen, William, Merv and Keith.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Bradley Gilpin (Amy) and Lisa Gilpin; and his siblings, Murray Gilpin (Diane), Audrey McLaren (Earl) and Edith Runge. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
