He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Covell and Florence Covell; and his brothers, Lorne, Arnel, Stanley and Osborne Covell.
He is survived by: his wife Isobel Covell; his children, Kenyon Covell (Karen), Ruth Mitton (Andrew), Christine Williams (David), George Covell (Charlotte), Margaret Lau (James) and Mary Beth Gardiner (James); and his sister Bernice McPhadden (late Charles).
