He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith and Margaret Smith (McLean); his sister Gladalene Blackburn; his father-in-law Joe Foster; his stepfather Grant Thompson; and his brother-in-law Keith Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Glenice Smith (Foster); his children, Keitha (Rob), Kevin (Judy), Karen (Lyndon) and Lyle (Glenna); his sister Evelyn Cardinal (Gerry); his mother-in-law Ella Thompson; his siblings-in-law, Donna Myers (Gerald), Sandra Foster, Brad Foster (Marianne), Neil Blackburn and Ronnie Moore; his grandchildren, Travis (Elsie), Selina Ryan (Alain), Austin, Adam, Nate, Lexi, Violet, Mathew and William; his great grandchild Chloe; his stepgrandchildren, Jaydon and Tanner; and his friend Jeff Smith. He is also survived by friends, nieces, nephews.
