It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jim Hermer (Smiths Falls, Ontario), who passed away on February 25, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Bernice Hermer; his parents, Howard Hermer and Jennie Hermer (Kirkwood); Bob (Ruth), Yvonne (Roland), Myrtle (Jack), Grace (John), Ernie (Fran) and Theresa (Bob).
He is survived by: his wife Rose Hermer; his stepdaughter Charlene Catchpole; his stepgrandchildren, KC, Marissa and Charles Catchpole (Germaine); and his friend Cassandra Toussaint. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Blair & Son - Smiths Falls Chapel (112 Beckwith St N, Smiths Falls, ON K7A2C2). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Maple Vale Cemetery (320 Brockville St, Smiths Falls, ON K7A4S5). A reception was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Blair & Son - Smiths Falls Chapel (112 Beckwith St N, Smiths Falls, ON K7A2C2).
