We announce the death of John Leslie Putnam (Smiths Falls, Ontario), who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 79. John Leslie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. John Leslie will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. John Leslie’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.

He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Putnam; his parents, Harry Putnam and Ella Putnam; his sister-in-law Doris Murray; and his mother-in-law Norah Code.

He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth (Chad); and his siblings-in-law, Nancy Gemmill (late Gary), Jack Code (Deborah) and Bill Code. He is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephew, extended family.
