He was predeceased by: his father Ted Douwes; his sister Sandra Bouwma; and his brother-in-law Keith Porter. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Douwes; his daughters, Jennifer Douwes (Ryan Carroll) and Jessica Douwes (Mark Matthews); his grandchildren, Hayley, Avery, Zoe and Owen; his mother Frances Vandersluis (late George); his siblings, Janet Crawford (late Andy), Charles "Chuck" Douwes and Ronald Douwes (Barbara); his siblings-in-law, Karen Lomas (Tom), Barry Porter (Dianne), Peggy Gravel (Andre) and Trudy Kniss (Gary); and his mother-in-law Vivian Wray (late Austin Porter). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Settlers Square (260 Brockville St, Smiths Falls, ON K7A0B7).
