He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cassell and Angelina Cassell; and his siblings, Ronald (late Joan Gallipeau) and Elaine Perry. He is survived by: his wife Joan Cassell (Carroll); his sons, Christopher (Debbie), Kevin (Marcy), Brian (Stephanie) and Scott (Cindy); his grandchildren, Nicole (Nick), Macy (Drew), Kaitlin, Emily, Brett, Reba, Mason (Sydney), Abigail (Rykr), Wade, Bailey, Danielle, Emma, Tyler, Nathan, Kurtis, Bronwyn and Samuel; and his pets, Buddy and Hank. He is also survived by many brothers and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Blair & Son - Smiths Falls Chapel (112 Beckwith St N, Smiths Falls, ON K7A2C2). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, February 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis de Sales Church (17 Elmsley St N, Smiths Falls, ON K7A2G6). A reception was held on Friday, February 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hanley Hall (30 McGill St N, Smiths Falls, ON K7A2J4).
