He was predeceased by: his spouse Stacy Sample; his parents, Fred Sample and Glenola Sample; and his sister Elaine Sample. He is survived by: his sons, Kristopher Sample (Robyn), Kurtis Sample (Charlotte) and Dylan Sample; his stepsons, Andrew, William and Samuel Bradt (Megan); his grandchildren, Violet, Rosie Bradt, Ellie Joynt Sample and Dorothy Sample; his siblings, Bob Sample (Mary Lu), Lynda Grant (Dan), Bill Sample (Jane) and Julie Sample (Kevin); and his friend Juanita. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Blair & Son - Smiths Falls Chapel (112 Beckwith St N, Smiths Falls, ON K7A2C2). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
